The Fantasy Stories is a free library of original bedtime stories for children ages 3–8. Every story here is written to do one gentle job: help little eyes get heavy, and send kids off to sleep feeling safe, warm, and loved.
What makes our stories different
Every tale is written for reading aloud, with a calm, cozy rhythm — soft repetition, sleepy sounds, and endings that always land somewhere warm. No cliffhangers, no scary parts, no “one more chapter!” energy. Most stories take about five minutes to read, and each one is labeled with a read-time badge and an age range (3–5 or 6–8) so you can pick the perfect story at a glance.

For parents
All stories on this site are original, free to read, and written for families. You’re welcome to read them aloud at bedtime, in classrooms, or anywhere a sleepy story is needed. We simply ask that you don’t republish them elsewhere.
