Bedtime Stories for 7 Year Olds
Bedtime stories for 7 year olds can hold a bigger idea inside a gentle plot, such as why giving something away can leave you with more. Many seven-year-olds read on their own by now, but they understand far more when they listen than when they read, so being read to still stretches them, and it keeps the end of the day close and slow.
Seven is also an age of quieter worries: about friends, about tomorrow, and sometimes still about the dark, which for some children lingers until eight or nine. A good story at this age does not lecture. It lets a character find the answer and leaves your child with one calm thought to fall asleep on.
The Princess and the Moon Garden follows Princess Talia as she helps a lost dream find the right child’s window. In The Mermaid Who Collected Quiet, Nerissa gives away every quiet she has saved in her shells to help a sleepless young whale, and finds her cave quieter than ever. The Cloud Shepherd is our slowest story, for nights when a busy head needs to let go of tomorrow.
Each takes about six minutes; find more in our longer bedtime stories, or look ahead to bedtime stories for 8 year olds.
